Crystal World

Roughly 45 hours total render time. This project started out as an exercise in creating procedural rock and terrain textures and ended up as a fun project in recreating one of my older paintings as a fully 3-dimensional world.

All custom-made assets, textures. All materials procedurally done with some help from Stencil Kit Pro. Rendered in Cycles.

(Used to make the geometry affect the texture based on cavities and edges. Mainly use it to add layers of noise maps and textures.)

(I've always loved how light refracts through crystals, so I wanted something like that but would still render on my laptop. )
